Saturday Morning Quilts with Cheryl Arkison
SPACES ARE STILL AVAILABLE…Now Open to Non-Guild Participants!
This year the Thunder Bay Quilters’ Guild is excited to announce a special two-day workshop experience with recognized Canadian quilter, designer, teacher, foodie and mom extraordinaire Cheryl Arkison. An accomplished individual Cheryl’s quilt work has been featured in magazines and websites such as Fat Quarterly and A Needle Pulling Thread. As a “foodie” Cheryl has also contributed to the Edmonton Journal, the Calgary Herald, and Christmas 365. In addition, she is the former Food Editor for What’s Up Families magazine and has been published online at delishmag.com, simplebites.net, babble.com and foodnetwork.com.
The workshop will be based Cheryl’s first book, Sunday Morning Quilts (2012, Stash Books) which she co-authored with Amanda Jean Nyberg. The book reflects her interest in scrap management and improvisational quilting. Topics also covered by the workshop and book are fabric confidence and selection, basic techniques and design.
