“Feel” good project

Saturday, October 22nd, at our monthly Sewing Day, we will be making Touch Quilts of the Alzheimer Society. Doors of the Dryden Go-Getters Senior Centre will open at 8:30 am.

To make an Alzheimer Touch Quilt, you’ll need 36, 6 inch squares of assorted textured fabrics. Some fabrics that would be suitable include seersucker, fake fur, velvet, fleece, satin, corduroy, wool and textured home decorator fabrics. Squares with pockets or zippers are also good. Colours are not as important as texture. Fur is a favourite as it may remind patients of a pet they owned.

If you are not able to attend on the 22nd, you may contribute fabrics, squares or completed quilts at your convenience.

Additional information is available on this printable document from the Alzheimer Society.
