The project for January’s Sewing Saturday January 23rd at Dryden Go-Getters Senior Centre is how to make a 9-patch placemat. As part of our Quilt Show in April, we have been asked to each make 2, 9-patch placemats using floral fabrics, for our banquet table. I thought this class might be good to thing to help us get started. Please view the enclosed picture of the sample that will be instructed.
To make one placemat, you will need the following fabrics:
one FQ of a floral fabric
one FQ of a complimentary fabric
one piece of batting 14″ X 18″
one piece of backing 14″ X 18″

Note: Double the fabric requirements if you are making 2 placemats
Also add fabric if you intend to bind your placemat instead of doing the pillowcase method of finishing.
