In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, the Canadian Quilters Association invited quilters/sewers across the country to participate in the nations biggest quilting bee with a goal of collecting 1000(!) quilts for Ronald McDonald Houses. The project will wind up at Quilt Canada in Toronto June 14-17, 2017.
At the Dryden quilting retreat April 7-9, the 75 participants were asked to build slab blocks for this worthy project. About 80 blocks were completed.
It was fun to watch the wall fill with colour as the weekend went on.
At subsequent gatherings of the guild, several quilt tops were assembled.
And one was quilted and bound.
An additional 7 blocks will be included along with these quilts. For more information about this national project check out canadianquilter.com
Well done!!! #bigquiltbee
