The Lake of the Woods Quilter’s Guild has another workshop coming up that has room for a few more participants.

Sandy Wald is a local quilter/stitcher who is passionate about handwork. Most of her quilts are hand quilted and heavily embellished with embroidery, beads, buttons and whatever else will achieve the look she is after. She has had many award winning quilts in our local show, and won several ribbons at the Manitoba Prairie Quilters Guild Show in Winnipeg, including Best of Show, in 2016. Last spring she had a quilt juried into the National Juried Show at the Canadian Quilter’s Association’s conference.

Sandy is a teacher who has fully explored/experimented with hand stitching in it’s many forms. This is a 2 day class with 3 weeks between the 2 days for completion of your “homework”. The first day will concentrate on the methods used in piecing the crazy quilt fabrics together, and the 2nd day will delve into embellishment. I’m sure Sandy will have many examples of her work available for inspiration. Are you looking for some techniques to take your projects to the next level?
